Ball State Year 2020 Has Came To A End

As we should all know ... everyone has to move off campus today March 24, 2020 by 10pm due to Indiana being shut down from March 25th- April 7th due to the corona virus. I feel bad for everyone that are seniors in High School or College because they don't get to finish our there last year in school to start the next big chapter in their life. I feel like this whole corona thing has ruined a lot of things but it's understandable. They are trying to keep everyone safe. I feel like it is hard on everyone when it comes to changing online. I feel like the work seems harder or it is even more work than we do in class during the school year. This year has been one crazy year this year and I didn't know it was gone end out the way that it is.

This corona virus seems to be very serious and hopefully everyone is staying safe in there home and making sure you are washing your hands frequently and making sure you are staying away from people as much as possible. If you have any symptoms ( fever, dry cough, difficulty breathing, and tiredness) make sure you check with a doctor to make sure you everyone is okay! These are things you guys should watch for especially if your parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. that are 60 and up.

Hopefully everything starts to clear up and we can start this next school year strong and have a better year. I hope everyone keep positivity rolling throughout this crazy situation that is occurring. Make sure you all stay focus and fight through this online work we are almost done!

  1. I totally agree this transit was very hard to process. I also feel bad for people like my RA she is a senior that has to finish her last semester online due to Covid-19 but I am also glad that this process has started sooner then later because now Delaware County has seven cause of of the coronavirus as of now.

  2. With all the changes being made, I agree that everything has been hard to transition into. The first week back it took a lot of adjusting for me, because online classes are so much harder. It makes me sad not seeing people take this seriously, because if we did the process wouldn't have to last as long as it's going to.

    1. SAME I am so fustrated because my family has stayed in quarentine since my first week at back home which is the friday after we were told we can go home. And when I say I'm isolated I mean it I haven't seen my boyfriend in weeks.... And all my friends are till seeing theirs, so it's hard. I hate the fact I have to miss birthdays and Easter with my family being that, that was the one holiday that my family holds at our house and my grandmother has been ill. I hate that we are missing all of this valuable time will our families and friends due to the neglegence by others. I have a neighbor, older man that is gone EVERY SINGLE DAY, he's retired so he's not going to work either. And I don't know if he doesn't understand like we are battling with my grandmother (granted she can't drive so she doesn't leave) or he simply doesn't care. No one seems to understand that no one is invincible to this. It's real. It's happening.

  3. I am definitely upset with this turnout but i also understand it. It's hard to know who was the virus and who doesn't and its up to us as members of the American society to practice social distancing to to stop the spread of this disease. I do want to know however, how are we gonna do right by our fellow seniors to give them the recognition they deserve???

  4. Additionally I would like to point out the question about grades? Is it really safe to say that people are getting everything out of their classroom time?? I don't know about my fellow classmates but my retention for information is greatly reduced when I'm not in the presence of my teacher. My attention is greatly affected when i'm in my room to be distracted by the million things I keep in there. If anyone has any tips please lemme know!!!

    1. What has seemed to help me is that I have a room in my basement that was finished off and was my "play room" as a child that I redecorated with the stuff I had in my dorm to help personalize it and use it as an office space. Now since we have had the nice weather I have been going out to a room my parents added on to the house that has windows surrounding it and closing the door so whatever my mom's doing doesn't distract me. I have tried studying in my bedroom this week since I do tend to spend a lot of time in here but just like you I get distracted on my phone or playing music on my echo or hanging up pictures or whatever I can do to not be doing what I should be doing. I also noticed that me keeping a schedule on myself has helped me overall. Every day I wake up at 9:30 am (central time) and go and get my breakfast and sit on the couch until about 10:30 (central time) because my class starts at 12:00 (eastern time) in that time I go over what was done in my previous class, turn on my laptop login to whatever I need to login to and make sure I have everything I need to be hunkered down for the next few hours that I'll be working. This passed week my schedule fell apart due to many things, but I have noticed myself struggling to stay motivated and focused. I can say that I do find my self sometimes my days of work can be an hour and sometimes 3 hours it really just depends. Obviously I'm not expert and I realize not everyone has a basement or a sunroom like my house but my main point is to find a place that not a lot of people come in and out of or are "high traffic" in the house. I hope any of this helps and believe me, I know getting a sleep schedule established is not easy but has proven to be very worth it.

  5. I totally 110% agree with you on this. I remember being a Freshman in high school dreaming if my senior prom and how perfect that "One last time would be" . I remember the nostalgic emotions my last week of high school, not really knowing if I should be excited that it would be my last time walking those halls , or upset because I felt both. But my point is I had that time to cherish the every last second of my time. I have friends still in high school that already bought their prom dresses that they won't even be able to wear and some of them spent a pretty penny on them. Obviously that was their choice but who would've thought this would come? Prom dress shopping season begins in January, Covid 19 was nothing but a joke on tik tok in January. I seriously thought it was a joke, not a real pandemic.

  6. I agree this is transition has been a hard process. I hate doing anything online because I am just not good with technology. I feel bad for all the seniors in high school and college because they can't do the things they have always wanted to do since they were a freshmen and they have put in so much work too. It makes me sad that people are not taking this serious because if they did then this whole quarantine would be over sooner.

  7. I agree this transition has been hard! I am a junior, and while I have had many classes online, I have never had ALL my classes online. It has been hard to stay focused and motivated to do my school work. I often have missed deadlines as well. This all stinks, but I am looking forward to next fall, hopefully we will be able to go back to normal!
